Cubsprout Review

Author: Jordyn Dickey

Let’s face it: We’ve all had a Cubsprout. Mostly because of the fact we couldn’t get anything else. And hey, at those levels he wasn’t too bad. However, as he progresses through the levels he is easily beaten by nearly all other Miscrits. With four moderate stats and two strong ones, he isn’t very versatile. He is a very weak ‘Nuker’ at best. The only interesting or appealing thing about him would be that his Physical Attack is strong, while his Elemental Attack is moderate, making him different from most other ‘Nukers’ in the game. His Moderate health can’t compensate for his sub-par defenses, however, and he’s down with two hits (One if you use a powerful Fire Miscrit with high EA, such as Lumera or Blazertooth). His weaknesses are just too prevalent to overlook, and he is easily bested by most.

Earth Miscrit Rankings

Author: Darren Lee

In this series of posts, I'm going to highlight some of the best and worst Miscrits in the game, and why they are so good or bad. Hopefully this will help you with your teams. I'll rank the Miscrits from best to worst in each element, and give details to each Miscrit such as what kind of Miscrit it is (tanker, nuker, etc.) Oh yeah, and I'm not going to bother with the starter Miscrits (Flue, Flowerpiller, and Prawnja), since their dark versions are pretty much the same... but better. And one last thing, I'm not including Volcano Island Miscrits in here, like Slithero, Rockodile, Shroomer, and Scorcero because they're still largely unknown.

Earth Miscrits

1. Digsy
Okay, first of all, there's been some real big debates about which Earth Miscrits are the best, and it really is hard to decide because so many of the Earth Miscrits are good. But I think Digsy is the best because of its strong defenses, and its max Physical Attack. Strong buffs and debuffs, and Sandstorm add to the awesomeness.

2. Drilldent
With strong Health, and max Physical Attack and Defense, it is definitely one of the strongest Miscrits. Like Chris says sometimes, you only need one good attack (Physical/Elemental), but you should be strong in both defenses. Although Drilldent is very common, it's still one of the best Miscrits around, especially at level 10. Sandstorm and Sleep are also included in the package.

3. Fossillia
With epic Health and Physical Attack, plus strong Physical Defense, it's another great Miscrit. With Sandstorm and Sludge, you want Fossillia on your side. Sadly, its weak Speed brings Fossillia down a little bit.

4. Eggy
Eggy is much like Fossillia, however it doesn't suffer from weak Speed. But it's unlikely its health will beat Fossillia, which is why I placed Eggy fourth. Also, Eggy doesn't have a negate element skill, but on the plus side it does have a Confuse skill.

5. Sapphron
With awesome Health and strong Physical Attack and Elemental Attack, it's a great Miscrit as well. However, it's unlikely that you'll get one - unless you're willing to pay the price... which I'm probably not. But overall, a great flexible attacker.

6. Craggy
I regret putting Craggy 6th, because it deserves better - considering it's basically a Drilldent with weaker Physical Defense, but stronger Elemental Attack. It doesn't have a negate elemental skill, but it does have Bright Lights and Sleep.

7. Sledgehog
Okay, here's where it gets to the non-elite Earth Miscrits in my opinion. Sledgehog is a Physical Miscrit, and with good rolls on Health its pretty strong. With Sleep, Sandstorm, and Sludge, its skill set isn't half bad as well.

8. Hippoke
With strong Health, Elemental Attack, and Physical Defense, it's pretty strong. And if you're willing to take chances, it's the Miscrit for you. Although it learns a 20 AP attack at level 10, it misses quite a lot, so it's a major risk. I'm not sure about its other skills, but I've heard that it only learns a few attacks through level 30, and Mace Tail, although with 30 AP, misses quite a bit too.

9. Croaky
Although it has weak Health, its max Elemental Defense makes up for it. The majority of Miscrits are stronger in Elemental Attack, so having max Elemental Defense is good. Also, Croaky has 2 25 AP attacks which makes it more flexible.

10. Mumbah
A very average Elemental Miscrit, it's actually not too strong. However, at level 25 with Unbreakable and Recompose, plus a few heals and buffs, it becomes the biggest pain in the butt possible... and can possibly become unstoppable. But other than that, it's not that great.

11. Quebble
Probably no doubt the weakest Earth Miscrit. Although it has strong Health and strong Elemental Attack, it has weak Elemental Defense which is real bad if it comes across a fast Wind Miscrit like Leggy. Sandstorm and Venom might come in handy, but it doesn't change my mind.

Rare Miscrit Tips

This post marks the beginning of an informative series about rare Miscrits, written by one of the most helpful, and probably most recognized, comment posters on this blog. I hope you enjoy it, and look forward to seeing the next part of the series soon.

Author: Ang Yue Feng, AKA Leggy Guy

First of all, there are some things about rare Miscrits you need to know. Here are 4 important things about them:

1.Your first thought would probably be: “Whoa. A RARE Miscrit! It is definitely powerful, I’m SOOOO getting it for my team!” Basically, that is the wrong mindset, which brings me to:

2. You need to roughly know which kind of Miscrit you need, and know what skills they learn as well. You can find many skill lists on this blog. Also, you can visit the forums at www.miscrits.com. There are definitely kind souls over there that will help you. Of course, rather than post a new thread, I’d suggest you use the search box. To summarize: A rare Miscrit is not necessarily something you need. Which brings me to:

3. You need find out important details about capturing the rare Miscrits. Fortunately, there is a great resource you can use to find out locations. Griffon at the miscrits.com forums has made a really AWESOME guide about it: Rare Miscrits Guide. You now should know where they are, and when they will be there. Now all that’s left is for you to know what type of Miscrit you need, but I’ll cover that more in the following posts. But first:

4. Rare Miscrits are not necessary for a good team. Rare Miscrits can help you, but they aren't always the best. A perfect example is Digsy. It is not rare, but has a very great skill list and some nice stats. You can read more about Digsy on Chris's blog by clicking on Miscrit Reviews at the top of the page, or by click this link: Digsy Review. Remember, you need to be dedicated to the game to find rares, but this is a mere game so it should NOT be affecting your life. Thus, please remember rares are NOT necessary.

There are three more posts coming in this series, one for each of the current zones in the game: the Miscrian Forest, Mount Gemma, and Sunfall Shores. There's a lot of great information in them about each of the rares, and I think they're going to be very helpful for a lot of current and future players. Look for the Miscrian Forest rare guide soon!

Miscrit Ratings and Other News

I have decided to take stand against the abstract, and fairly useless, concept of rating individual Miscrits on a 1-10 scale. The ratings are arbitrary and I would have to go into great detail about what the numbers mean to me before they have any real relevance to the reader. As such, if anyone wants me to "rate" their Miscrit, I will still take a look at it and tell them if it's good or not, but I won't be assigning any numeric rating.

In related news, I plan on launching a series of posts about rating your own Miscrits and how to determine what category each stat is trending towards. I have started writing this series and I hope to have the first post available within the next week or so.

I also wanted to mention that I have several more great guest posts coming very soon. Darren Lee's Miscrit Rankings series still has three more elements to go, and I think you'll really enjoy seeing the conclusion of his inaugural guest posts. Jordyn Dickey, the author of the Sapphron review, is working on more Miscrit reviews, and personally I can't wait to read more of his fantastic writing. There's also a great series on rare Miscrits coming soon from Ang Yue Feng, AKA Leggy Guy. I think it's going to be very helpful for a lot of current and future players.

There are a lot of exciting things coming soon for the blog, so make sure you check back often for updates!

Sapphron Review

Author: Jordyn Dickey

Sapphron has the potential to surpass Miscrits such as Fossilia or Eggy who are often accredited to being the best Earths you can obtain thus far in the game. With a good roll on the speed stat, he is very difficult to beat. His high health makes up for his moderate defenses; Sapphron can take a pretty good beating. Where he really shines, however, is his versatility in the offensive field. He has strong Elemental Attack, and strong Physical Attack, meaning he can easily exploit Miscrits who lack defense in either field. This opportunity to inflict damage in two “dimensions”, elemental and physical, makes him an all around great Miscrit; he is weak in no area. His versatility in the battlefield is very helpful in the arena, and he is not weighed down by the weaknesses of the run-of-the-mill “tanks” or “nukers”. He learns useful skills such as Confuse and Intimidation, as well as having Destruction in his later levels. I’d recommend him to any team in need of a good earth.

Thanks to Jordyn for an insightful review on this difficult to obtain Miscrit!

Fire Miscrit Rankings

Fire Miscrits

1. Blazebit
Well, I'll be honest, I can't say it's absolutely the best because all of its stats are random, but let's just say it has great potential. But one thing is for sure, it's the strongest Miscrit at level 10 with Bombard and Poison.

2. Ignios
With max Elemental Attack and some pretty great skills, it also has potential to be the best Miscrit. It's probably among the strongest Miscrits at level 30 with Reaping Flame, which does a lot of damage and has a chance to lower all stats by 5 and Accuracy by 10%.

3. Dark Flue
If you don't want to deal with random stats, Dark Flue would be the best of the Fire Miscrits. It's an awesome Physical Miscrit with great Health. With Confuse and a 27 AP attack at level 30, it's definitely one Miscrit you want on your side.

4. Sparkitten
An extremely fast Miscrit with excellent Elemental Attack. It's stats are pretty much the same as Dark Flowerpiller, but with weak Physical Attack. I consider it another good nuker. With Venom, it's probably best at level 22. Another great Miscrit to start the team off with.

5. Sparkupine
A really Physical Miscrit, Sparkupine is best at higher levels. With Venom and 2 25 AP attacks, it's quite strong.

6. Steamguin
The Elemental version of Sparkupine; Steamguin is probably just as good as Sparkupine. But because Steamguin doesn't have any special moves like Venom, he was placed 6th. Steamguin is probably best at level 10.

7. Blazertooth
Blazertooth is a strong Elemental Miscrit, however its weak Health brings it down. Its Sleep and Venom does come in handy though.

8. Hotfoot
The Physical version of Blazertooth, also with weak Health, I consider it pretty much an equal. With
Confuse and 2 25 AP attacks it's also quite strong.

9. Lumera
Lumera is an extremely fast Miscrit with good Elemental power. However, its Physical Defense brings it down considerably. It is best at level 10 with Poison.

10. Flameling
Flameling is pretty much a weaker version of Blazertooth. It also doesn't have any special attacks, besides Firewater, which could come in handy.

Water Miscrit Rankings

Water Miscrits

1. Snorkels

Okay, don't get me wrong, because I think Dark Prawnja is probably just as good as Snorkels, but I still like Snorkels more (probably because of looks). As a fast Elemental attacker, and with good luck with Physical Defense and Health, it can be the best of the current Water Miscrits. Best at level 10 (with Poison), level 22, and level 30. My Snorkels ended up with great Physical Defense and good Health, and I'm pretty happy with it.

2. Dark Prawnja
A strong Physical fighter with max Health, it's one of the best Miscrits around. With Sleep, Acid Rain, Overwater, a 25 AP attack at level 28, and a 27 AP attack, Dark Prawnja has one of the best skill sets of any Miscrit. Probably a tie with Snorkels for best Water Miscrit.

3. Orcatide
With luck, it's the best tanker in the game, with max Health and strong defenses. My first Orcatide had pretty weak defenses, so I wasn't too happy.

4. Wavesling
A strong Elemental Miscrit with strong Health as well, it's a great Miscrit to have. With Overwater and Sludge, it's very good.

5. Snortus
A great Physical Miscrit with great skills, it's pretty darn strong. With Confuse, 2 25 AP attacks, and Lull -which is one of my favorite skills - it is very strong.

6. Hydroseal
Don't get me wrong, it has terrible defense, but for a nuker, it's not that bad - especially since it's fast. To be honest, it's actually pretty good at levels 10, 19, 22, and 30.

7. Squibee
A really average Elemental Miscrit, with Toxic, Sleep, and good buffs and debuffs.

8. Shellbee
Pretty much the exact same thing as Squibee, but with weak Speed.

9. Waddles
The exact same thing as Shellbee... except it has Confuse instead of Acid Rain... and it's kind of rare.

10. Nessy
An Elemental Miscrit just like Squibee, Shellbee, and Waddles, but with bad Physical Defense and no Poison skills. Probably the only special thing about it is its level 10 skill Soak, which raises its Elemental Attack by 1 each time it's used.

11. Frostmite
A slow Miscrit with good Elemental power. Nothing great about it except for Overwater. It's pretty easy to kill even so though.

Nature Miscrit Rankings

Today marks the inaugural guest post for this blog. There are several more coming from different authors, so look forward to some really great reads in the days to come. Darren Lee is the writer of this post, and it's the beginning of an excellent six part series where he will be ranking the Miscrits from best to worst by element. I'm very grateful to have such a wonderful contribution from a veteran player, and I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I have.

Nature Miscrits

1. Dark Flowerpiller

Dark Flowerpiller is an extremely fast Elemental attacker. It is what I consider a "nuker", which is a Miscrit capable of doing a lot of damage, but dies quite easily. With Photosynth, Blitz, Venom, Confuse, and Dark Bugs, it's one of the best miscrits around. Probably best at levels 10, 13, 25, 28, and 30. Great at the start of the team with its max Speed.

2. Kelpa
Now, I'll be honest, I can't really say that it's an amazing Miscrit, because all of its stats are random - except for Speed, which is weak. Hopefully your lucky, and get an awesome Kelpa. Its skills are also really good. Definitely a great miscrit to have (if you're lucky).

3. Grubbean
Grubbean is a great Physical attacker with great defense. Probably the best at level 28 with Destruction. I haven't trained mine too far yet, so I haven't got all of the skills, but still an awesome Miscrit.

4. Echino
Definitely one of the best tankers in the game, with strong defenses and strong Health. However, it can't deal much damage. With Toxic and Photosynthesis, it can be a good addition to any team. Probably best at level 13.

5. Weevern
Okay, now don't get me wrong, Weevern's weak Elemental Defense brings it down, but its level 30 skill Dual Dragon more than makes up for it. It's arguably the best skill of any Miscrit. It has strong Health and Elemental Attack, which is also good. Probably best at levels 13 (with Toxic) and 30.

6. Elefauna
Okay, starting now we come to the average to not-so-great Miscrits. Elefauna is another good Miscrit with great defense, but weak Speed. Another tanker that doesn't deal too much damage. With Venom and Harvest, it's a pretty good Miscrit overall.

7. Snatcher
I think that Snatcher might be better than Elefauna depending on the situation, but they're both okay. Snatcher is probably best at levels 10, 13, and 28 with Venom and Gilly Weed. Probably one of the stronger Miscrits at level 10. With a combination of Devil's Snare, Flourish, and Leaves, it can be really strong with some luck.

8. Tulipinny
A rare, but average, Elemental Miscrit. It's good at level 10 with Poison, and Confuse isn't bad to have. Honestly, I don't think it deserves to be rare.

9. Quirk
An average Physical Miscrit. Well, overall average, with nothing too special about it.

10. Cubsprout
A fast Physical attacker which is probably only good at level 10 and 30. Its combination of Speed and Physical power can come in pretty useful against some Miscrits.

11. Twiggum
Basically, a Tulipinny with weak Speed when only looking at stats. With Confuse and two 25 AP (Attack Power) attacks, it's not too bad I guess.

12. Treemur
Basically, a Tulipinny with weak Health. No attacks too special besides Poison, which is useful at level 10.

Kelpa Review

Kelpa is a (potentially) very powerful Nature Miscrit. It has five random stats, all but Speed, so it has the chance to excel offensively and defensively. Its final attack, Garbage Heap, is one of the most powerful in the game. It also learns Destruction, giving it the flexibility to be a powerful Physical attacker. Kelpa also learns several other useful skills, namely Pollen, Intimidation, and Body Shield. It's a great Miscrit at low levels too. Kelpa learns Confuse early, and a unique skill called Sea Sand that makes it one of the most powerful Miscrits at level 10. Overall, Kelpa is a great Miscrit with a lot of flexibility if you have good luck with its stats.
